Challenge Series
The goals of the 2011 Challenge Series are to promote event participation in uniform and service to the Club. A special award is given to all participants who meet the guidelines outlined below. Past awards have included club jackets, fleece vests, tech shirts, etc. The 2011 award will be determined by the Board of Directors at year–end.
The top men and women point earners will receive special awards.
Requirements:
1. Complete at least eight organized events during the calendar year.
2. Six of these events must be from the list of Challenge Series events below.
3. Compete in these events exclusively in the official FMRC uniform.
4. Complete six hours of volunteer service to the Club. Examples:
committee work, service on BOD, help with a Club event or promotion,
mentor another Club member, etc. These hours must be verified and are entered on the FMRC website.
5. Log your races and volunteer hours on the FMRC website
6. Hit the red hotlink "Enter Race" in the upper left of the page and you will get a drop down menu to enter your races and your placement within the race. Points are assigned by distance and age group placement. You receive extra points for placing within your age group. Longer races are worth more points.
7. Note that there are separate drop-downs for the each distance at each race, i.e. there will be two drop-downs for Run San Ramon on July 4th, one for the 5k and one for the 10k. Please use the correct drop down. If the race is not in the drop-down, you can type it and chose the applicable distance and the correct amount of points will be automatically applied.
8. Elite Team members can receive the year-end award but are not eligible for point awards.
