Sports Bio
Running is my passion is running for health and to appreciate the simple blessings we get each day.  I enjoy running on my own some days and love the comrade of others. In college I ran 1500, 3000 and 5000.  Many years later I started road racing - and my first marathon as a naive runner - trying to follow a fun run group I met while living in a new state. Each week the runs got longer - but since I didn't know where I was I had to keep up - eventually my roommate started giving me bus money in case I got lost. My PR's in 10K road racing is 35:04, 1/2 marathon 1:20 and Marathon 2:45. Goals are to keep running and hopeful to get in some great races this year.

Highlights of past season(s)
Running at Bay to Breakers and seeing former running buddies from years ago and reconnecting. They retired my race number as a top runner in the 100 Bay to Breakers Run.

Favorite race experience
Running OMT at Columbia S.C. and seeing 4 generations of my family there to cheer me on. My Grandmothers and Great Aunts were my biggest fans and they would celebrated all of life adventures.

Worst race experience
Having a tough race and being in the medical tent where I could not stop shivering - so the person assisting me picked me up and held me over a heater - felt like I was being toasted like a marshmallow - but still couldn't get my body temperature regulated. Ugh!

One unique or interesting fact about you or your life

In the summers on Cape Cod - all the older kids would send me out running to catch the ice cream truck as it often skipped our neighborhood - usually running in bare feet on a rock and dirt road.

Best training advice ever received
Do you best with what you have got today - be thankful for each opportunity to learn. If you fail to plan then you plan to fail.
